The Fire walk experience can give you the courage to do other things also.

You have to respect the fire before you can fire walk.

Frequently Asked Questions

How hot is the fire path?

In general the temperature range of the hot coals of the fire path are in the area of 800 - 1300 deegrees farenheit. When the coals are spread out to make the path, they usually start out at around 1200 degrees farenheit and over the course of the walk they cool down to around 800 degrees farenheit. Keep in mind that water boils at 212 degrees farenheit and paper burns at about 450 degrees.

The coals are for real and very hot!

How long is the fire path?

The fire path for our seminars is 8 - 10 feet long, which is appropriate for first time firewalkers. Seasoned and practiced firewalkers often use 40 foot fire paths and people have been known to walk fire paths up to 120 feet long!

Do people ever get burned?

The majority of people that walk the fire path do not get burned, but burns do happen. Most burns are very minor and may result in a small red spot or a blister. Fire walk veterans call it a "fire kiss" and use it as a reminder to respect the power of fire. Respect is an important part of the fire walking preparation process and is necessary to any form of success. Respect can help prevent getting burned in just about any life situation.

Where did Firewalking first start?

Fire walking has been around for at least 4000 years. The earliest recorded fire walker was an Indian Brahman, however there are many cultures that have practiced firewalking, some of them still do it. The examples are world wide and include American Indians, Asian Indians, Aztecs, Africans, Europeans, Buddhists and even Catholic Saints.

Will I have to walk the fire?

It is always your choice what you do, you should never let any one force you to do anything. This is part of our firewalk philosophy. Part of the value of the seminar is showing you that you control your mind, your fears, your body and your decisions. Whether you walk or not, you still receive the benefits of the firewalk.

What age do you have to be?

The state of mind is more important than the age. Children as young as 5 have been observed fire walking and people over 100 years old have done it. All people are responsible for their own actions! Fire Spirit Firewalks always recommends safety first.
